Product description: 
In Ancient China, this bright red, delicious fruit similar to the Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) but with some differences was originally given to the Mandarins as a gift. Cultivation continued for thousands of years as it became an integral part of Chinese traditional healing techniques, plus it tastes amazing eaten on its own or added to cold salads. 
 
There are 3 different types of Mandarin Essential Oil i.e. Green, Yellow and Red which are all obtained by cold compression of the peel of the fruit obtained from Citrus nobilis (Mandarin), but are processed during different times of the fruit’s ripening process. 
 
All 3 Eos have a similar chemistry and can be used interchangeably as their chemistry is similar, they are however each unique in their own individual way as the ripening process creates a subtle change in the chemical profile and overall scent of the produced EO:
 
Green Mandarin is from the green unripe fruit and is a pale green thin EO with a clean citrus aroma which in comparison is sharper, more acidic and tart asits oil is extracted when the fruit has the least sugar content,. 
Yellow Mandarin from the partially ripe fruit, is a thin yellow EO, slightly sweeter than Green but not as sweet as Red.
Red Mandarin (aka Tangor and Temple Orange)  is from the fully ripened, mature fruits which has a sweet scent with a floral undertone and is a yellow/ orangish thin oil. It is the most recommended for use in aromatherapy, even during pregnancy and for kids. 
Nowadays Italy is the main producer of Mandarins and its essential oils.
