Product description:
Steam distilled from the lemon scented eucalypti; Eucalyptus Citriodora aka Corymbia citriodora or Lemon Eucalyptus, a tall, smooth barked tree native to North East Australia this light, refreshing, invigorating Essential Oil is a must have especially during dry or cold weather.
Aborigines have used Eucalyptus leaves in their traditional healing poultices, mixtures, and concoctions for centuries, and in the 1800s groves of Eucalyptus were planted in districts of Algiers to stop the spread of malaria as the aroma of its leaves is repellant to mosquitoes.
Eucalyptus essential oils in general are highly desired for their high cineole content and abundance of therapeutic benefits with over 15 species from this plant family cultivated, bottled, and sold for aromatherapy with some e.g. E.globulus, E.radiata having a larger name recognition and popularity than others e.g. E.citriodora, E. polybractea.
Generally, EOs from Eucalyptus spp. have many of the same properties but with subtle differences in aroma, chemical composition, properties etc. based on which species they are extracted from and that determines which spp. should be used by who, what for, at what age and how?
Citriodora has a markedly lower cineole content and higher citronellol content than other species which gives it its sweet rosy, lemony scent more like Citronella than the sharper more minty, camphoraceous, scent of other Eucalyptus EOs.
It is also gentle yet still effective and is valued for its refreshing, invigorating effect in aromatherapy, as a great skin cleanser for natural skincare, and its ability to effectively repel mosquitoes and other insects.
Blends well with:
Essential Oils of Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cedarwood, Citronella, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Coriander, Cypress, Eucalyptus (globulus or radiata), Fir, Frankincense, Ginger, Jamarosa, Juniper Berry,Lavender Kashmir, Lemon, Marjoram, Melissa, Palmarosa, Pine, Peppermint, Rose Geranium, Rosemary, Rosewood, Ruh Khus, Sage, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Spruce, Tea Tree, Tulsi, Thyme.
Note: Product colors and aroma profiles are intended to represent the typical and approximate color and scent of each oil. However, both can vary based on harvesting, distillation and other factors. These variations should not affect the efficacy of the product.
