Product description:

Derived from steam distillation of the carefully handpicked blossoms of Citrus aurantium aka The Bitter Orange tree, native to North Africa, mainly Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, and The Mediterranean. Neroli Essential oil is a rockstar in the world of perfumery, aromatherapy, skincare, hair care etc. for its abundance of therapeutic properties.

The Bitter Orange tree is the gift that keeps on giving, with 3 different versatile essential oils i.e., Bitter Orange EO from the peel or rind of the fruit, Petitgrain EO from the leaves and twigs and the rich, heady, vibrant, seductive, floral with citrus overtone scented Neroli from its small, white blossoms.

Neroli Essential Oil is also known as "The Oil of Romance" and was historically used in weddings to calm the couple’s jitters and for its seductive effect. Its heritage dates to the 17th Century when it was loved by Italian aristocracy, lore has it that Marie-Anne de la Trémoille, Duchess of Bracciano loved it so much she added it to everything from her bath water and clothes to infusing her gloves in it, which led to her nickname Princess Nerola.

Neroli is also one of the most expensive essential oils on the market for a variety of reasons, chief of which is it being a “Low Yield EO” so the sheer volume of the small, white delicate flowers needed to create even a small amount of EO (1 kilo makes only 1ml of EO) is mind boggling.

To compound things, the blossoms tend to lose their fragrance very quickly and it is important they are not bruised or otherwise damaged in anyway, so they must be carefully yet rapidly handpicked, and steam distilled immediately or the EO cannot be extracted.

As if those factors are not enough, Neroli is also highly sought after in the fragrance industry where it is an ingredient in some of the most popular luxury perfumes for its unisex scent e.g. Creed Neroli Sauvage, Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua, Hermes Eau de Néroli Doré etc.

Not to mention the unending demand for its therapeutic benefits in both aromatherapy and the luxury skincare industry, with demand far outweighing supply, 100% Pure, Undiluted Neroli EO retails at $70/5ml minimum.

Unfortunately, this also makes it one of the most adulterated EOs on the market, with unscrupulous sellers mixing it with the cheaper Petitgrain or Bitter Orange EOs or simply replacing it with fragrance oils or synthetic mimics to unsuspecting buyers, which may smell similar but they lack the amazing therapeutic benefits and certain scent notes and effects which can only come from the real deal.
